M4 Team Process – in depth

The M4 Team Process is a two year training that seeks to help the church planter and their team succeed in the first years of church planting. Success means that, at the end of the training process, the church planting team is prepared to launch a healthy reproducing church that glorifies God and impacts society.

The process has been developed in collaboration with several different leaders from different theological and church backgrounds with common values and a desire to not just train church planters but to also create a collaborative process for planters and their teams.

The Great Commission

The M4 Team Process guides church planter and their team through the Great Commission in Matthews 28:18-20 by focusing on four significant themes:

M1-Master: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” In this module, you will learn how to build a healthy team that clearly understands the Gospel and the vision, model, and culture of your church plant.
M2-Mission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations...” In this module, you will be motivated to boldly and clearly declare and demonstrate the Gospel.
M3-Multiplication: “...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” In this module, you will explore how to build a healthy culture of disciple making.
M4-Movement: “...And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” In the final module, you will learn how to multiply leaders and communities in a healthy way.

The Process

There are four significant elements that contribute to the success of the M4 Team Process: assessment, online learning, facilitation and coaching. They are both interconnected and building upon each other. Your church planting team will benefit from each of them.

Assessment A combination of self-assessment and behaviour interview led by the assessors' team will help the church planting leader to better understand his potential for church planting in the areas of calling, character, chemistry and competences. Once, preferably before starting M4 Team Process
Online learning Teachings on biblical, theological and strategy issues and interviews from some of the top experienced church planters in Europe will challenge, encourage and prepare your team. Participant's journal with both individual and team assignments will guide your team through the process and help your church planting team move forward in a healthy way. Ongoing for the entire M4 Team Process
Learning community Learning community gatherings, focused on the four themes of the Great Commission, will help your team engage in a collaborative learning process. It will result in the development of a concrete action plan for your church plant for the next six months. A weekend gathering every 6 months, for 2-2,5 years
Coaching Each church planter and team will have a dedicated coach who helps you to work through the action plan and any other issues your church plant is facing. Once a month for the entire M4 Team Process
